28 Aug New in town: Suntory ROKU Gin and Pop-Up Bar
Meaning ‘six’ in Japanese, ROKU Gin is Suntory’s first craft gin release which launched in Australia this month.
Themed around the number six – from the unique Japanese botanicals incorporated in the blend, to the bottle cast in a hexagonal shape, and the inclusion of the kanji character in the label – each detail of ROKU Gin is testament to the meticulous attention to detail of Japanese craftsmanship that is the House of Suntory.
The six Japanese botanicals – sakura cherry blossom flower and leaf, yuzu peel, sencha and gyokuro tea and sansho pepper – are individually distilled by the Japanese artisans of Suntory Spirits in Osaka, Japan (which Tokyo Bird’s Yoshi Onishi visited earlier this year – see our Insta stories).
These flavours are then blended with the eight traditional gin botanicals – juniper berry, cardamon seed, orange peel, angelica seed, angelica root, cinnamon, coriander seed and lemon peel – to create ROKU Gin’s unique flavour. Try it at the ROKU Gin Pop-Up Bar at Tokyo Bird this September – see event and ticket details HERE
