Enjoy an exclusive menu of Haku Vodka cocktails at Tokyo Bird this July/August and embrace the Japanese tradition of tanabata [たなばた or 七夕]; also known as Star Festival.
The festival stems from the legend of Orihime and Hikoboshi, star-crossed lovers separated by Orihime’s father Tentei, the Sky King. They were only allowed to meet once a year: on the seventh day of the seventh month.
In their honour Japanese people of all ages make a wish for tanabata, writing it on colourful tanzaku paper and tying it to a bamboo tree. And you can do the same at Tokyo Bird this tanabata! Purchase any of the Haku Vodka Tanabata cocktails during the period to receive your tanzaku, then write your wish and tie it to the bamboo near the door.
Make it an extra special tanabata and join us and House of Suntory for our Tanabata Dinner on Wednesday 3 August – details here.
Happy tanabata festival!
