18 Mar Tokyo Bird, Osaka Trading Co., Sando & Nikkei available for takeaway

We’ve been preparing for what seems to be the inevitable in this coronavirus pandemic of 2020 but at the same time, we want to be here for you if you need a stiff drink, quick feed or distraction from the year that has been.

Like most of our peers, we’ve been hand-washing constantly (hello dry skin), we’ve been disinfecting and sanitising like OCD clean freaks (no offence), we’ve been keeping our sick and potentially sick colleagues at home, we’re keeping a very close eye on official announcements from the Government and health organisations, and we’ve been keeping our spirits high to look after our guests at Tokyo Bird, Osaka Trading Co, Banchō, Sando and Nikkei Bar & Restaurant.

Our venues are still open and trading as of today and will continue to until the official advice is otherwise. We are limiting seating so that our guests are well spaced within our venues, with tables, chairs, bathrooms and other common surfaces to be disinfected between seatings. While we still can, we’d love to serve you – and while you still can, if you’re healthy and not in self-isolation or in contact with vulnerable people, we encourage you to eat out and support small businesses like us because we have a tough road in the weeks and months ahead.

As of yesterday we’ve added takeaway food options to most of our venues for those “social distancing” or self-isolating. We’re hoping to add some delivery options to our Surry Hills venues soon too, and we’re trying to upload our whole menu at Osaka Trading Co. to UberEats.

Here’s the plan for each venue as at 18 March 2020:

Osaka Trading Co.

Open for lunch and dinner, Monday-Sunday

Sando

Open from 7am-3pm Monday-Friday

Phone orders will be made available via 8880 0788 – pick up from Shop 1, 226 Commonwealth St, Surry Hills.

Tokyo Bird

Open from 4pm Monday-Saturday (please note we have been closing earlier at nights ~10.30pm and we will be limiting bookings as required)
FOOD MENU available for takeaway from 5-9pm Monday-Saturday

Nikkei Bar & Restaurant

Open from 5pm Monday-Saturday – we are limiting bookings to about half the restaurant – BOOK ONLINE HERE

We will continue to open for trade while we can and we’re hoping to keep the takeaway options going as long as we can through this period. We hope you can support us and our staff during this unprecedented and difficult time and still enjoy (some of) what we have to offer.
